Jenira Anne Hill, Founder & President of Creative Steps.

Bachelors in Psychology: College of Saint Elizabeth

I have always had an interest in learning about the way people think, human dynamics and our life experiences. During my senior year I was selected as a New Jersey Minority Academic Career Fellow (a statewide fellowship for minority college students that demonstrate academic excellence) and had the opportunity to conduct an independent research study investigating anxiety in African Americans and the benefits of dance therapy. Under the mentorship of dance educator and Associate Professor, Dr. Doris Walker-Bennett, I had a profound interest in using  therapeutic services to integrate the body, movement, and expressive spirit with the healing skills of counseling, psychotherapy and rehabilitation.

M.A in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness: New York University

I received my individual and group therapy experience at New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, as a two year candidate in the Master's Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness program.  During my graduate studies I gained experience working with diverse populations which ranged from the developmentally disabled to substance abusers and recovering addicts.
